Our animal friends may be gone to the Summer Land but they will never be forgotten.

Ashton was a Larbrador Retriever.
She came into my life when I needed
her. She left when her job was done.
She dragged me off the couch and
taught me to enjoy life, to laugh and to
cry. She gave me the courage to be
what I am.
My student, companion, teacher and
friend. Always there, never
questioning, forever understanding.
To say she was a great dog, wouldn't
be doing her justice. She may be
physically gone but her spirit will live
on in my beliefs and who I am. She will
forever be the symbol of the driving
force in my life.
I salute her, and thank her for the
short time she shared with me.
Regardless of what the truth is, I have
to believe I will see her again.
A Pagan blessing comes to mind:
Merry Meet, Merry Part and Merry
Meet Again. Farewell, my beloved
friend, until we meet again.

We are allowed only one great dog
in our lifetime. Ashton was
mine...............
He is sadly missed by his mistress, and
my friend, Karen.
Pembroke Welsh Corgi, Badger
Do not search for him in fields of clay.
The Spirit hasn't changed, now that it's free of mortal coil and
Temblor Earthy bonds.
Look up and see his light among the stars.
And you don't feel his voice upon the breeze?
Nor taste his tears in gently falling rain?
That where he rests above the Universe?

This is Old Lucy. She was a Corriedale that
was born here in 1990 when I still kept a
breeding flock. The sheep had to go (long
story) but she was a special bottle lamb so I kept
her. She didn't know she was a sheep and
would follow the dogs around. She was 16
years old when she went to the summer land,
and her dry humor is truly missed.
Tess left me in early summer of 2004. She taught me
more about dog behavior than any other dog I ever
trained. She was the best little ambassador for how well a
dog could behave. I miss her terribly. She left me too
soon.
Tess was a little Pembroke Welsh Corgi, and the mother
to Brandon and Ena

Corriedale, Old Lucy
Corriedales, Elsie and Eclare My "Dark" sisters.
|
Sweet, gentle Eclare and Elsie. They left me in
June and September 2006 just 3 months apart.
They came from WFB Farm to live with me 12
and 13 years ago when Eclaire was 2 and Elsie
came a year earlier when she was 1. Eclare
was my flock leader and the rest are a bit lost
now that she and her sister are gone.
This is a photo intense page and takes some time to load.
Tina was a little Romney ewe. A Romney you say!!
Yes a Romney. She came to me when her health
was failing and she was a great 19 years old
already. She stayed with me for two years. She
was the dearest little ewe. She had to have special
pelleted feed because she had four teeth in her
mouth and they didn't line up! She was with me
only a short time. Seems like she was here
longer.........
Cassie was a WFBF Corriedale and came to
live with me when she was about 9 years old.
She could no longer keep up with the big flock.
Here she had only a short distances to walk
daily for her food. She left me when she was
12. What a special dear lady
Lacey was my mother, Dorothy Topp's cat. After
mom passed Lacey stayed with a family friend for
awhile and then she came to live with our
daughter, Sara. Lacey stayed with Sara until it
was time to rejoin Dorothy. She had a job to do
here and when it was done she left us to be with
the human she so dearly loved.
Marilla was a little cat that I raised on a bottle. I'm
not sure she knew she was a cat! She lived as my
friend for 13 years. Cancer took her in August
2005. I miss her friendship.
Special animal friends are always remembered.
The heart aches for the loss of their warmth
and friendship, but the mind remembers the
happy times and we smile through the tears.

When we take on the responsibility of an animal's care, we take it on for the life of the animal.
Whether the life is a long or a short..............
Morgan was a little kitten born on our
farm in 1988. She left me this spring,
2007. Very sad day for us.
